THIS is failure

This article says that in Detroit fewer than 25% of incoming freshmen go on to graduate.

Fewer than one in FOUR graduate. What does that do to a city when its best hope for recovery is failing at that frightening rate?

Or what does it say about the college? Why aren't those students being helped towards success?

Those are freshmen in HIGH SCHOOL, though - even worse. Such despair and hopelessness there - HAS to be. I know one thing - there's one job where a person with some energy could make a HUGE difference in the lives of a LOT of kids.
